Can be reinfused twice. Definitely best drunk without adding anything to it but extremely versatile and equally delicious as a base for natural fruit juice cocktails, smoothies or anything that requires green tea but without the caffeine.
Produced from the same plant as normal Rooibos (or redbush), but whereas rooibos leaves are bruised and oxidised, the green rooibos leaves are specially treated to prevent oxidation, leaving them closer to their natural state. Not disimiliar to green tea production. Being less pocessed or oxidised than normal Rooibos green rooibos has more antioxidants, and richer mineral content.
The production process has remained largely unchanged and makes use of the natural hot and sunny climate, where the tea is entirely handpicked and cured naturally in the sun.
Grown only in the Cederberg mountains in the semi-desert Western Cape of South Africa, Rooibos – Afrikaans for ‘red bush’ – is naturally green but gets its deep red colour and rich flavour from fermentation similar to that of black tea. From the organic Wiedouw estate near Vanrhynsdorp, these thin needle-like leaves offer a unique taste experience: an inviting vanilla/grass aroma, woody flavours and a sweet, mild, fruity taste.
