There’s only 12 days left to go until Valentine’s Day! But never fear, here are some top picks from the Chateau Rouge team to treat the loved one in your life on the day of romance with some luxury foodie goodies!

Breakfast in bed – kisses for me…

One of the best ways to treat your other half is by making them a luxury breakfast in bed. Picture a beautifully set tray, with a nice glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a steaming pot of tea or coffee, and hot, buttered toast, slathered with luxury preserve?

The full of fruit Chateau Rouge Artisan spreads are made with seasonal produce – chunky, juicy pieces of fruit grown locally to the country of origin. The traditional fig and walnut, blackberry and apricot spreads hail from the sunny shores of Corsica, bringing a touch of luxury and holiday sunshine to your breakfast.

Or how about comforting honey on toast, using it to sweeten up some tea, or add a swirl to some porridge? The English Meadows Honey was harvested in late 2016 in leafy Cheshire, North West England, known for its flavoursome honey. Made from a variety of blooms, the 100% raw, unpasteurised honey is coarse filtered to preserve taste and texture, exclusively produced in small batches by experienced Cheshire beekeepers. The honey has delicate hints of lime, blackberry and dandelion on the palate, so complements herbal teas, such as chamomile, dandelion or lemon and ginger, and would also go well as part of a romantic breakfast that includes the blackberry spread on the other slice of toast.

All the lovers

Treat the tea lover in your life with the signature green tea blend, appropriately names “Butterfly Lovers”. A blend of Chinese, Indian and Ceylon organic green teas, the tea leaves are mixed with dried Seville oranges, wildflower petals and Italian bergamot oil, creating a luxurious, sweet and refreshing taste. Conveniently blended into silky, pyramid tea bags, it’s ideal for a breakfast or bedtime brew.

Top taste tip: When you’re brewing green tea, make sure that the water is not boiling – it scalds the delicate green tea leaves. The optimum temperature for a good green tea is 80-85 degrees Celsius.

Chocaholic Heaven

For the ultimate, indulgent chocolate treat, step away from the boxes of chocolates! The Chateau Rouge artisan drinking chocolate is made by master chocolatiers with single origin, hand flaked chocolate from the Dominican Republic and pure, powdered Valrhona cocoa. The hot chocolate recipe was inspired by the 17th Century Chocolate Houses of old, so this hot chocolate is designed for pure pleasure and to tantalise the tastebuds.

The pure chocolate mix works well several ways – you can make your hot chocolate with hot water, milk or milk alternatives, such as soy or almond milk, or even with cream – the ultimate, rich chocolate treat!

Fifty Shades of Earl Grey

A civilised, high quality Earl Grey could be just the ticket for the gentleman – or gentlewoman – in your life. The Prince of Earl Grey is available as either a loose leaf tea or silky, pyramid teabags and is a lightly fragranced, all natural Earl Grey blend, made up of handpicked Darjeeling, Keemun and Ceylon large leaf teas, mixed with bergamot oil from Calabria, wild meadow flower petals, and - the pièce de résistance - vanilla pods from Madagascar. There are no added flavourings and the natural bergamot oil, flower petals and vanilla pods provide a luxurious, superior and very different tasting tea for His Lordship or Her Ladyship’s Valentine’s treat.

The strong, silent type?

The Gold Great Taste Award winning coffee blend, the Barista Italian Blend coffee makes a top notch espresso. It’s made from 100% Arabica slow roasted coffee beans, which are sourced from single origin, ‘bean to cup’ certified estates in Brazil, India, Ethiopia and Central America. Italian in style and blended by an experienced, fifth generation Italian coffee making family, it’s a smooth, rich, naturally sweet and sophisticated cup of coffee, perfect for after a celebratory meal or as a morning ‘cup of Joe’.

Top taste tip: The coffee blend can be used in most coffee grinders and makers and is equally tasty as a short espresso or a milky latte.
