Fashionable food during London Fashion Week

Fashionable food during London Fashion Week

Now that the Valentine’s Day buzz has died down, London will be alight once more for London Fashion Week, running from 17 th-21 st February. What are the fashionable food choices for hungry fashionistas after a busy day at the London shows?

A very fashionable afternoon tea

Why not enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea – traditional or otherwise – while you’re in town

The obvious choice for a very fashionable afternoon tea is the famously fashionable Prêt-à -Portea  at The Berkley Hotel. However, if you’re not booked already, you’re going to have trouble getting in – you need to book at least two months in advance! The hotel will also be running workshops so you can learn how to design your own fashionista-themes sweet treats call +44 (0)20 7201 1619 for more information.

But if you’ve missed the boat on that, don’t worry – there are plenty of other fashionable venues that offer a stylish afternoon – or evening – tea in London. Here’s some of our favourites…

Hamming it up

How about the Ham Yard Hotel’s award-winning afternoon tea?

The Ham Yard Hotel is a hit with the famous and fashionable, and it’s a funky, yet relaxed atmosphere to sit back and enjoy a good tea and bite to eat. Part of the joy of this hotel is its location. Moments away from Piccadilly Station, a short walk from Oxford Circus, and it’s within walking distance of Somerset House when the weather’s good. Yet, it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle in an elegant and peaceful square, Ham Yard.

Served all day, the award-winning afternoon tea can be enjoyed in various parts of the hotel, each with its own different style of relaxed vibe. Pink’s going to be big this season, so there’s even a pink-themed Pretty in Pink Valentine’s Afternoon Tea available throughout February. Fabulous!

Down the Rabbit Hole

Another hotel frequented by the fabulously fashionable, The Sanderson, is just a short distance from both Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road and is home to one of London’s most famous afternoon teas with a twist, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Designed to mark the 150 th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, the food is plentiful and that little but different – even nicer enjoyed with a nice glass of something fizzy. If you’re hungry a bit later in the day, there’s also a Tipsy Evening Tea on offer, with boozy cakes and cocktails. Sounds perfect for Fashion Week!

Classic pieces

If you’re looking for a classic, and another award winner, try The Goring, which holds The British Tea Guild Council’s Top London Afternoon Tea Award and Award of Excellence. Served in a light, elegant room, the table settings are classically stylish and the tea is served from sterling silver teapots.

You can even have a delicious and always fashionable splash of Bollinger with your afternoon tea – afternoon tea, Ab Fab style, Sweetie!

TeaToxing

Or, if you’re still keeping up the January detox, how about a Tea Tox, with a selection of very healthy and tasty menu options by Madeline Shaw? Served with a glass of ultra-brut Champagne, naturally – so that’s light on the calories…

Anyone for a burger?

If afternoon tea just doesn’t cut it, we’ve heard that the fashion world and some very fashionable celebrities favour a certain exclusive London burger joint. Made famous by the uber-fashionable Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, Ferdi, in London’s exclusive Mayfair, is home to the ultimate burger, known as the Over-the-top burger.

A medium-cooked burger, with raw and caramelised onions, a special, secret-recipe burger sauce, pickles and a sesame seed bun, it’s bound to be a hit this fashion week. Lunchtime is on a walk-in basis only, and inner must be booked by text messaging the restaurant on 07375 538309.

A warm welcome to London; we hope you have a great stay and enjoy a week of glamour at London Fashion week!
